This was the first Lightsaber Choreography Competition. It ran from September to December of 2002 and is probably best known as the origin of Ryan vs Dorkman (Entry 6). While RvD won, there was some controversy as to whether should have been disqualified since it only fit the time limit of 2 minutes if you excluded the intro. Said controversy was solved with more specific rules in future competitions. Second place went to Entry 4, Art of the Saber. Entry 1, by a group on a naval base in Japan, got third place. Entry 7 by Darth_Knight was entered too late to be officially part of the contest. Entries 3 and 5 are lost in the sands of time.
LCC 2.5 was started in December of 2003, a few months after LCC 2 failed to attract enough participants. This competition was not limited to lightsaber choreography, though most entries kept with the theme anyway. As well, the time limit was increased to five minutes. The winning entries by popular vote were, in order, 10 (Contenders), 7 (Not a Forest), and 3. The judges' votes ordered them 10, 3, and 7. Entries 11 (A Target for Two) and 12 (Rybot vs Ash) were not officially in the competition due to technical difficulties. Intermezzo Dualis - Reloaded was not entered in LCC 2.5 only because it was too awesome for Zap to delay from releasing it earlier.
LCC 3 ran from September 2004 to January of 2005. It limited weapons to single and double bladed lightsabers. One significant change was that all entries had to be done annonymously; thus no credits or identifying names could be attached to entries until voting was completed. While some hand-to-hand combat was acceptable, extended sequences without lightsabers were not allowed. Some entries, such as Entry 11, had to be re-edited to be accepted. Entry 28 (Saber Fight 2004) was disqualified due to not enough fighting. Entry 10 (Ryan vs Brandon) won, followed by Entry 8 (Mae vs AdidasJacket), and then Entry 6 (Eclipse).
